True Story: Doug McRae always said to me, "You know I'm not a good enough racer to be on
your website, but I enjoy reading about all the "real racers" in there.
But I'm working on it and someday I hope to be good enough to make it
in there".

Doug can be best described as a modest man who never made a big deal about himself or his achievements.  He was also the guy that folks would run to for tools, parts or just a cold drink and some good company.

From his Pro Stock racing days to all of the antics he used to do as a young man growing up, Doug had some crazy stories.  Unfortunately many will go unheard as Doug passed away on us last week and we already miss him.  He was always there to help us work on our racecars and even helped us wash the Pro Systems rig a few times (we used to store our rig at his shop in the winter time before building our own shop in Florida).  

Doug was truly a real good friend to many and to all of us at Pro Systems. It was said by one of the ladies at Dougs funeral that she had never seen so many grown men cry.  These grown men are the same hardened fierce competitors that assisted Doug when he showed up at the racetrack last year with his brand new pride and joy.  An 800 plus c.i. Pro Systems carbureted, Nitrous Injected Wally Stroupe 1963 Corvette.  These men immediately surrounded him and worked furiously to get the car sorted out and assist him in making a pass down the track.  

Unfortunately, his ailing health never allowed him to make an effort at competitively racing this top of the line vehicle.  Well, Doug said he was never a good enough racer to be on our website, although thats not true, but to me, being a really good person is actually more important.
